Oswestry Tourism Business Capital Grant Scheme.

Shropshire County Council's Tourism Action plan has been allocated funding from the European Regional Development Fund, and Oswestry Borough Council has secured £70,000 in order to improve the tourism offer in the town and the surrounding area.

The objective of the grant scheme is to improve the tourism offer by raising the quality of the facilities, and therefore the overall quality of the tourism businesses. This will encourage visitors to the town, lengthen their stays, and increase visitor spend which will have a positive effect on the local economy.

Grants will be available to eligible businesses to provide capital improvements, which result in fixed assets in order for them to improve the quality and performance of their business. Grants may be up to £10,000 for businesses located in the EU Objective 2 area, and within the Borough of Oswestry.
