Is house in Conservation Area?

If house is part of terrace, will cubic content exceed cubic content of orginal roof space by more than 40 cubic metres, or more than 50 cubic metres in any other case?

Will any part of the house, as a result of the works, extend beyond the plane of any existing roof slope, which forms the principal elevation of the house and fronts a highway?

Will the works protrude more than 150mm. beyond the plane of the existing roof when measured from the perpendicular with the external surface of the original roof?

Will any part of the house be higher than highest part of existing roof?

Will works consist of or include the installation, alteration or replacement of a chimney, flue, soil and vent pipe, solar voltaics or solar thermal equipment?

Will the works consist of or include the construction or provision of a veranda, balcony or raised platform?

NB - 1. "Original house" means as built or as it was on 1st. July, 1948.
In all cases, proposed works are subject to the following conditions:-
- materials used in any exterior work, (except conservatories), must be similar in appearance to those of the existing house.
- any upper-floor window in a wall or roof slope forming a side eevation of the house must be
- obscure-glazed and
- non-opening, unless parts capable of being opened are more than 1.7 metres above floor of room, in which window is installed.
- except in the case of a hip-to-gable enlargement, the edge of the enlargement closoest to the eaves of the original roof must, as far as practicable, be not less than 20 centimetres from the eaves of the original roof
