Disability Equality Scheme

Almost 19% of local people have a disability or limiting long term illness. This can range from physical or sensory impairments to mental health conditions or long term illnesses such as cancer.

The way that councils and businesses organise their services can make it difficult - or even impossible - for some to use them. This disability equality scheme sets out where these problems are, and how Oswestry Borough Council will work to resolve them over the next three years.

Oswestry Borough Council is proud to display the Disability Symbol - a recognition given by Jobcentre Plus to employers based in Great Britain who have agreed to take action to meet five commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees.
