Switch On Shropshire

Switch on Shropshire is a £4.79 million project, aimed at providing broadband access to businesses and the community of Shropshire.

The 3-year project run by Shropshire County Council is funded by Advantage West Midlands, Rural Regeneration Zone and European Regional Development Fund grants.

As part of this project, Switch on Shropshire has set up several Broadplaces around Oswestry. These are community-managed establishments placed in centres of the community, such as village halls, community centres or pubs within local rural communities.

Broadplaces offer community access to ICT, facilities, locations for delivery services as well as training and meeting facilities for businesses.

The existing Broadplaces within the Oswestry area are:

• Maesbury Marsh Village Hall
• Ruyton XI Towns
• St Martins Community Centre
• Trefonen Village Hall
