Keep Shropshire Warm and Climate Change

We will continue to seek to address issues of fuel poverty with our partner agencies by developing and implementing such schemes as Keep Shropshire Warm.

Keep Shropshire Warm is a scheme set up with financial assistance from DEFRA.  The Keep Shropshire Warm scheme aims to encourage the take up of existing energy efficiency grants and to develop other assistance packages with external bodies to both save energy and reduce fuel poverty.

We will seek to promote means of achieving and implementing energy efficiency measures and pollution reduction measures to contribute towards the national targets on climate change.  The Unit is responsible for the production of the statutory reports on Home Energy Efficiency, which are submitted to Government annually.

We will continue to work in partnership with other Shropshire authorities to develop schemes to encourage the uptake of grants for energy efficiency works and to maximise available resources.
