Shropshire Business Summit

2008 Event

This years annual business summit, Shropshire Business - Global Markets will be held at Shrewsbury Town Football Club on Thursday Ist May 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

Guest speaker will be Geoffrey Davies OBE of McConnel Ltd.

History

Shropshire County Council were delighted by the number of business people who made the time to attend the recent Shropshire Business Summit held on 17th April 2007 at Shirehall.

The comments and feedback received will be taken on board for future events and communications.

It is hoped to make the summit an Annual Event and any suggestions for format for next year, or proposals for a Guest Speaker would be welcomed.

The idea of a Regeneration Company for the county was raised and now the County Council are looking in more detail at what such a company might look like and what its remit might be. It is proposed that options will be put forward in September 2007.

This years Summit was the first and the County Council remain very keen to improve their relationship and understanding of the issues and priorities facing Shropshire businesses. In the short time available at this year's event, the surface wasn't even scratched and it is hoped that businesses will continue to work with the County Council in letting them know how the business people of Shropshire can be better served, both through policy development and service delivery
