Oswestry Tourism Strategy 2007 - 2017

Consultation

The public consultation on the draft Tourism Strategy for the Borough has now come to an end. We are now looking at the comments and suggestions we have received, and we expect to publish the final Strategy at the beginning of 2008.

Introduction

Oswestry is a diverse and beautiful area, containing many attractions and facilities for tourists.  Oswestry Borough Council wants to promote tourism in the area, building on what is already here, to provide more jobs, and to encourage both residents and visitors to appreciate our culture and heritage. As one of our neighbours  has observed, "a place that is worth visiting is usually a good place in which to live and work".

The purpose of this Strategy is to identify where we need further knowledge and investment to maximise the advantages to the Borough of the local tourism industry, and to help to guide its development in a structured and sustainable way.
