Llanymynech Business Support Clinic

The long-awaited refurbishment and extension works to Llanymynech Village Hall Enterprise Centre will be complete by the end of 2007 and will offer not only facilities for education, recreation and leisure but also a new and exciting venue for training, workshops and networking events geared to the needs of local business and tourism. 

This is especially relevant as the area-wide marketing for the Heritage sites kicks in (Llanymynech Hill with its caves, climbing and wildlife, Montgomery Canal with its narrow boat George Watson Buck run by the Duchess-Countess Trust, the Hoffman Limekilns restoration, Cambrian Steam Railway) and a myriad of rural activity providers together with local hostelries, artisans and craftspeople.

As a cross-border village with a catchment area encompassing many rural hamlets between the market towns of Welshpool and Oswestry the venue is ideally placed to service local businesses with a tourism focus for information, training and advice in conjunction with organisations and agencies such as Oswestry Borough Council's Economic Development & Business Support Team, Business Link West Midlands, Powys Tourism and Medran Training Provision. 

The first Rural Business Clinic is scheduled for Thursday 27th September and any rural business can book an appointment with an advisor on almost any business related topic which may be concerning them.  Typical topics may be business planning, grants, VAT/Income Tax, Marketing, cashflow forecasting, etc.

We hope to build up a local community of small businesses offering mutual support and business-to-business networking, as well as facilities for showcasing of both goods and services and forums for joint marketing initiatives.  We can offer seminar facilities, interview rooms, demonstrations / presentations, IT training as well as kitchen facilities for your own use or brought-in catering.

The facilities available are:

• ten place IT Centre with broadband connection, tuition courses or drop-in and personal support if needed
• twenty-four place pre-school facility with afterschool and holiday playcare
• two meeting rooms, exhibition foyer, excellent kitchen and toilet facilities
• high standard shower block and sports changing rooms for users of the adjacent playing fields
• newly modernised main hall with up to date lighting and sound equipment with stage and raked seating system for arts and drama, seasonal functions, seminars, conferences or presentations
