The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) have issued guidance for completing Club Premises Certificates applications. If no representations/objections are received within the 28 day consultation period then the Council must grant the licence. Representations/objections may be received from the responsible authorities, local residents or their representatives, MP's and businesses in the vicinity of the premise. Where representations are received the Licensing Section will aim to resolve these amicably with the applicant. However, where this is not possible the application will go before the Licensing Sub-Committee who will decide whether to grant or refuse the application. A hearing will take place within 20 working days of the end of the consultation period. Annual FeesEvery year on the anniversary of the grant of the club premises certificate an annual fee becomes payable. The annual fee is dependant upon the non-domestic rateable value of the property.
