Towards a Northern Area Partnership

Summary of Visioning Event 24th January 2008

As Shropshire moves towards Unitary Authority status, the roles and responsibilities of new partnerships are being developed.

A piece of work was commissioned by Oswestry Borough Council, (OBC) working in partnership with North Shropshire Borough Council (NSBC). In each of these two areas, partnerships currently exist to progress the actions set out in the respective Community Strategies. These strategies complement the Shropshire County-wide strategy and indeed throughout all three documents, a golden thread of common themes emerges.

Under the new structure, the partnership arrangement for OBC and NSBC will come together to form a new Northern Area Partnership. A Visioning Day was held to build on what had gone before and establish the priorities for this new phase of partnership working, and the final report can be found in the Documents/Links section of this page.
