All training offered is free and refreshments are provided. Assistance with transport, care and childcare is available. Tenants Working Group (TWG)The TWG was formed in March 2000 as the official link between council tenants and the borough council. The TWG is sponsored by our housing services and is recognised both by elected members and council officers as the official channel for maintaining contact between tenants and the local authority. Members of the TWG are unpaid volunteers who are elected representatives of all tenants of the Council. They monitor the performance of the Housing Service, are consulted on new policies before they can be accepted. They consider all new information leaflets etc to decide whether they can be awarded the readability approved logo. They will also have their own issues which will involve inviting outside agencies such as police, health and safety, County Council etc. to make presentations to their meetings. Meetings are held normally on the last Friday in the month between 14:00 and 16:00. The TWG has been involved in the decision-making process of the Housing Service at many levels and aims to continue working in partnership with the Council's Housing Services to ensure that tenants' views remain firmly on the agenda.
