Policy H25: Non-Permanent Accommodation

The siting of a separate unit of non-permanent accommodation within the curtilage of a dwelling house may be allowed while repair or renovation works to the main house are being carried out, or where there is a need for temporary accommodation of dependent relatives.

The caravan should be removed when the renovation works are complete or have been abandoned for a significant period.

3.178 - This policy is designed to cater for people who are carrying out major renovation or building works to their main house and need temporary accommodation for the duration of the works. It is also designed to deal with the need to accommodate relatives on a temporary basis.
