Policy H30

Temporary Caravans and Mobile Homes Associated With Dwelling-Houses

The siting of a residential caravan or mobile home as a separate unit of accommodation within the curtilage of an existing dwelling-house will be allowed provided the following conditions are satisfied:

1. The accommodation is for a family member who cannot be accommodated satisfactorily in the main dwelling, or

2. The accommodation is for a person in need of personal care from the occupiers of the main dwelling, and

3. The residential caravan or mobile home is sited so that it will not seriously prejudice the residential amenity of neighbouring properties and is coloured and screened to make it as unobtrusive as possible.

In all cases, permission will only be granted on a temporary basis.
