Policy H14: Pant

Within the 'Area for No Further Consolidation' on the Pant Inset Map, no new housing development will be permitted other than on sites with existing planning permission and the other sites identified.

3.120 - The narrow highway network along Smelthouse and Stargarreg Lanes is under considerable pressure from existing traffic, and this will worsen as new housing sites are developed fronting these lanes. Although new development is required to dedicate land to enable highway improvement, there will be a number of bottle-necks arising which impede the free and safe flow of traffic in this area.

3.121 - In order to attempt to minimise further traffic pressure in this part of the village, an 'area for no further consolidation' is outlined on the inset map, within which new development will only be permitted on sites with current planning permission and on other suitable sites shown on the Inset Map. No further development will be permitted by the subdivision of existing curtilages or by back-land development.
