Flooding

For situations where life is or may be at risk contact Shropshire Fire and Rescue service using the 999 system (where there is a medical emergency contact the ambulance service using the 999 system and informing them if your property is cut off by floodwater).

Requests for Sandbags

For sandbags/complaints of flooding during office hours, other than on highway, contact Environmental Services on 01691 677225 (out of hours, for urgent requests only, please call 01978 264332, the duty officer is authorised to provided sandbags after hours without reference to anybody else).

Flooding Forecasts and River Level Warnings

To find out about any potential flooding in your area, visit the Environment Agency Website or contact the local office at Shelton on 01743 272828 but please be patient as they can become very busy with flood warning/level enquiries. 
The Environmental Agency have just launched a Flood Awareness Campaign for older people.  A leaflet 'Flooding: be prepared, a guide for older people' has been produced in partnership with Help the Aged.  For more information click here
