High Hedges

If the answer to ALL of the questions below is "YES", it is likely that the Council will be able to consider a formal complaint.

• Have you attempted to resolve the complaint by consultation/discussion with your neighbour/the owner of the hedge?
• Have you asked your neighbour/the owner of the hedge to consider resolving the complaint by using an independent mediator?
• Have you informed your neighbour/the owner of the hedge of your intention to complain to the Council?
• Is the hedge made up of a line of 2 or more trees/shrubs?
• Is the hedge mostly evergreen/semi-evergreen?
• Is the hedge more than 2 metres high?
• Is the hedge capable of obstructing light/views?
• Is the hedge growing on land owned by someone other than yourself?
• Are you the owner/occupier of the property affected by the hedge?
• Is the property, affected by the hedge, residential?
